Francois Cadet affectionately known to many family and friends as (Jean Claude or Cadet) was born on Monday July 3, 1944, in Rue Canal in Limbe, Haiti to the late Bientot Cadet and Philomene Alexandre Cadet. Francois was one of 12 children (3 died at a very young age).  He is preceded in death by his brothers the late Mincius Cadet, Brunel Cadet, Jacob Cadet, Joseph Cadet and 2 sisters the late Gyslaine Cadet, and Yvrose Cadet and a daughter the late Cassandra Cadet.  Growing up in Haiti, Francois made a living by becoming the neighborhood tailor and brought his talent to the United States. Francois (Jean Claude) came to America and migrated specifically in Elizabeth, New Jersey in the winter of 1982 where he resided with his cousin Jacques Cadet. While residing in the U.S, Francois cared and provided for his family here in the United States as well as back home in Haiti.

He met the love of his life Marina L. Jean In 1984 and they have been inseparable since. They went on to grow their family and had 2 loving children Cyndi and the late Cassandra. Francois found employment at Hilton Manufacturing Sewing Company in Linden, New Jersey and worked there as a seamstress and made suits for a well-known cloth line Polo Ralph Lauren for 12 years until they closed and moved their establishment to California. He then found employment at the Hilton Hotel now known as the APA where he was employed until he was laid off due to the Covid-19 pandemic in March 2020.

Francois was a member of the Ebenezer Seven Day Adventist Church of Elizabeth, New Jersey. He always attended services with his wife and children. However, in the summer of 2007 at Ebenezer annual Revival with his daughter by his side he gave his life to Christ.

Francois was a very quiet and pleasant person. Very direct about his feeling and thought. The best person to go to for advice. Francois was to go person in his family. He created the pathways for his siblings to immigrate to this country. He opened his home and helped get them employment to his family as a steppingstone so they could get their feet grounded to begin or bring their family from back home and do as he did and to pay it forward.

Francois loved his family, loved to indulge in television watching his favorites shows, one being Wheel of Fortune and he loved playing dominoes with his late brother and friends. Francois grew ill in 2021 and despite his illness he kept his faith strong believing God had the final say.

On January 5th, 2021, Francois was called Home to be with the Lord. He will forever be remembered by his loving wife Marina Cadet, his brother Moise Cadet and his spouse (Eugene Cadet), his sister Yolande Cadet (Haiti), his children who adored him Marie Claude Cadet, Gamael Cadet and Cindy Cadet, his stepdaughters Emmanuela Joseph Jones and spouse (Bayshine Jones) and Edelle Jean.
