Adele Theophile was born to Michaud Luma and Flora Darius in Saint Marc, Haiti. While in Haiti, she assisted in caring for her siblings, nieces, and nephews. In her early twenties, Adele met and married Yves Theophile. After four years of marriage, Marc Roland was born. Yvena was born three years thereafter.
In the early eighties, Adele immigrated to the United States to join her husband and seek better opportunities for her family. As she grew accustomed to her new life, Adele gave birth to two more children, Nadeige and Rhodel Theophile. Unfortunately, Adele and Yves lost their son Rhodel in 2018.
In addition to raising her own biological children, Adele was a mother figure to others. She was also known to many as “Marren” which translates to godmother in creole. Family and friends looked to Adele for support in various areas of their lives and she was loved for the aid she provided. She worked not only to provide for her immediate family but for her extended family and friends as well. Adele loved her friends and family. In addition to spending time with loved ones, she also enjoyed listening to christian music and attending her church.
Adele is survived by Yves Theophile (husband), Marc Theophile (son) Yvena Theophile (daughter), Nadeige Theophile (daughter), Courtney Theophile (granddaughter) Ian Theophile (grandson), Irogv Theophile (grandson), Lumeus Luma (brother), Simone Luma (sister) and many nieces and nephew.
Adele Theophile will be forever loved and missed.
